Marwa Ali Elsharkawi
Egyptian filmmaker, born in 1989., graduated from Faculty Of Mass Communication - Cairo University, in 2010, studied filmmaking at Cinedelta School in Alexandria and Creative documentary workshop which supported by Cairo International Women's Film Festival.
she directed three short documentaries “The land of gold”, “A woman that looks out the window.”, and “A Happy journey” which were screened at several international festivals, including Luxor African Film Festival and the French festival Très Court, her feature film “Forgotten dreams” won the best documentary film award at the International Film Festival in Iran and with a support grant from the Cairo International Women's Film Festival, UNFPA produced her first short drama film ("Dear Ward") on the issue of female circumcision, also she directed several documentaries for several channels such as BBC and Al Jazeera Documentary.
